Nau carries no weapons since she prefers to stay away from fights but can use Ice Shield. Personality:
Nau was born being a highly curious Naiad who would swim long the rivers near Siren’s Edge and watch people from the water. She does occasionally pick up little things that are by the river’s edge being curious of them. But it’s never anything that interesting to humans, strips of left over leather (Such as the one that she ties her hair with), string that was used to make bows or feathers used to make feathers, sometimes small beads and that sort of thing. She usually looks at them then returns them to the same bank. She seems willing to learn about anything really but if she feels threatened she is quick to flee. Nau by nature is a very calm Naiad who tends to stay away from conflict if possible. This is most likely why she doesn't know any kind of magic other than one spell that defends her.Biography:
Nau was created and began to swim through the rivers watching the people from beneath the water’s surface. Her curiosity lead her to learn about various rumors that people talked about near the rivers and a few of these rumors she has heard makes her scared of a lot of land dwellers, particularly those who have swords. She has seen a few healer by the river and admires them for their work. Deep down a small part of her is interested in learning to make potions but she feels her life is meant to be in the water.
She has on occasion lead people back to the towns nearby by swimming in the river and splashing loudly to draw their attention until she reaches the border of the town they are headed to. Other times she has been spotted by the river’s edge but one no really seems to mind her seeing she picks up little things then puts them back swimming away. Nau tends to stay away from fights since she prefers to stay out of conflict, but she does know one defense spell.
Nau is inclined to help people especially younger children for some reason, she has even gone so far as to walk onto dry land to give someone something back but usually this involves her getting on land then tossing the object at them before running off hiding so people won't notice her.DETAILED ROLE PLAY SAMPLE:
Nau peeked her head above the water again, a small family of four had decided to have a picnic near the river and like most of the time she curiously poked her head out of the water. The family was eating but the child had left a few things by the river’s edge; string, a few toys, and the father’s bow. Picking up one of the little wooden toys she looked at it. It was nothing more than a small wooden horse figure but to Nau it was fascinating. She ran her fingers over it gently feeling the wood used to make the figurine, she set it down not wanting to attract too much attention to herself. Ducking her head underwater again she watched the family play by the river after they had consumed their meal. The little boy picked up a ball that had been in the basket of food and threw it up in the air, watching this occur about eight times before the little boy missed catching the ball.
The brown colored sphere rolled down the bank of the river and into it. Nau looked at it for a moment before she heard the cries of the boy, the river Nau was in moved at a quick pace and the ball would soon be wash up stream never to be seen again. Nau quickly swam after the ball picking it up, the family had begun to walk away with the boy still crying for his ball. Throwing the ball onto the bank the family did not stop. Nau picked it up again and through it harder towards the male, the small ball bumped into the father’s leg. He blinked looking down to pick up the ball before glancing at the river. Nau however had slipped back underwater by then. The father shrugged handing his son the ball back and walked away with him, Nau smiled a bit as she watched them leave their bodies fading into the green of the forest that surrounded the river that she swam around in.
Nau nodded slightly watching them leave before swimming off into a distant part of the river so she could hopefully find a new group of person to watch as they lived on the land. That or she thought she could hear the sound of fellow Naiads in the water near by, this excited her seeing she liked to hear tales from those who were much older than she was (How she knew those who were older than her seemed to be a complete mystery) or speak with the younger about her own experiences in the waters that ran through this river.
Notes from the artist:
Nau's name is a play on the word Nautical. Her last name is Hawaiian for wide expanse of water.
All her fins are based on those of a goldfish. I only drew them because she looked really boring without them.
RP and writing wise I refer to her as a female in though she technically has no gender due to her appearance of being a female.
